This post consists of a couple of miscellaneous observations on Manhunter.
Above left and right: At the end of the movie, Molly cries upon meeting up with Will on the beach in Captiva. Rather than being an indication of her being 'torn up' over all that has happened, this crying is, in reality, an indication that she is overcome with sadness, now that she is stuck with Will (since Dr. Bloom did not return to her).
In the scene in which tabloid reporter Freddy Lounds is in a wheelchair, rolling down a ramp toward the National Tattler parking garage guard station, the fact that he is on fire is meant to suggest that he represents a meteor in this scene - a metaphorical 'falling star'.
